Check-In Process

Shark Bay Cottages are self check-in.

  • Your check in details are available for collection in the black ‘Key Box’ right next to the Office Staircase.

  • You will receive your cottage name, a location map and key inside an envelope.

  • Check in is from 2pm.

Check-Out Process

Our check-out time is 9.30am. Please leave your key in the same lockbox you retrieved it from.

Please ensure dishes are washed and put away and room is left in a respectful condition.

Rates & Payments

Rates

All rates quoted are subject to availability. All rates are inclusive of GST and quoted in Australian dollars. By using the rates quoted, you agree with and abide by these Terms and Conditions. Rates as quoted are per room per night on a room only basis, unless specified. Rates may be affected by seasonality and may increase without notice.

There is a 2-night minimum stay required for all bookings. This may be increased without notice during peak season and school holidays.

Payment

A valid credit card is required for all bookings.

  • A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking.

  • The 70% remainder will be automatically charged 30 days prior to your arrival date on your nominated credit card.

  • If you book within 30 days of your arrival date, the full amount is due at the time of booking.

Once a booking is confirmed, a contract exists with Shark Bay Holiday Cottages and you accept the terms and conditions of this booking. Shark Bay Holiday Cottages has the right to release any cottages where the payment terms have not been met.

Please note: We use a secure payment facility which encrypts your card details. We do not hold your specific credit card numbers for privacy and security reasons. A 1% surcharge is applied to all card payments.

Maximum Persons/Per Room

Rates are flat rates per cottage and not charged per person. You are able to have the maximum number of people as advertised for the specific cottage type you have booked at no additional charge. Infants (under 2) are not calculated as part of the overall bed count, however arrangements must be made to bring a porta-cot if necessary. Sleeping in tents, caravans, campervans or swags is prohibited.

Damages

Management reserves the right to charge guests for the following, but not restricted to, all damages and breakages, lost keys, missing items, late departure, extra cleaning and unpaid expenses. Any additional charges will automatically be charged to the credit card provided as security for the booking following at least one attempt to contact the credit card holder.

Towels & Bath Mats - $50 per towel
Bedding (sheets, pillow cases) - $50 per piece
Doonas - $150 per doona
Pillows - $50 per pillow
Oil/Salt/Pepper - $20 per piece
Cookware - $50 per piece

Other damages charged at replacement cost / discretion of management.

Parking

Parking is free for guests of Shark Bay Holiday Cottages.

There is plenty of room for cars and boats to park onsite, however we request caravans are parked in an allocated spot on the property and not in the main area of the park.

We do not allow sleeping in campervans, caravans, tents or swags within the park.

We do not allow the use of power connected to your boat or caravan whilst parked at our property.

We do not take responsibility for your vehicle while it is on our site. Please ensure you take measures to avoid damage or break ins by keeping vehicles on the premises locked at all times and do not leave valuables in your vehicles.

Noise & Common Facilities

Noise: There is a noise curfew at 10.30pm. Please consider others and remember that voices can travel at night.

BBQ's, Courtyard Area & Outdoor Fireplace: The main BBQ area is not to be used after 10.30pm. Please consider other guests and scrape/clean BBQ's after use.

You may light the outdoor fire (weather permitting) but please use common sense during fire bans or hot/windy days.

Fish Cleaning: Please do not clean fish within our grounds or in your cottage, or dispose of fish waste in bins. There is a fish cleaning station on the foreshore opposite us including bins for fish waste matter.

Laundry: There is a guest laundry onsite with coin-operated washing machines, dryers and washing lines which you are welcome to use during your stay. Please note that washing machines may be busy between approximately 8am - 12pm as this is when our housekeeping staff utilise them. We take no responsibility for clothes that are damaged or missing as a result of using onsite laundry facilities.

Children & General Safety

Speed Limit: Strictly walking pace throughout (8km/ph).

Children's Bicycles: Bicycles are not to be ridden after dark without parental supervision. It is the parent's responsibility to ensure their children wear helmets in the park when riding bicycles.

Safety & Responsibility:

  • Parents are responsible for for controlling and supervising the behaviour of their children for their own safety and the comfort of other guests. We are not liable for you or any other person.

  • No responsibility will be taken by management for injury, loss or damage to personal property or equipment. You agree to indemnify us and keep us indemnified against all and any claims which may arise during your stay.

Environment

Washing Boats & Cars: Water in Shark Bay is an expensive resource, therefore the washing of boats and cars onsite at the cottages is prohibited.

There are self-serve car and boat washing and vacuuming facilities close by in the industrial area at 33 Vlamingh Crescent.

Water: Guests are not permitted to fill up large water containers with water from our taps to use on camping trips.

The Water Corporation is situated on the Monkey Mia road. The self-service coin operated machine is on the left hand side, approx. 500m from Denham Road. It is $1 for 20 litres.

Air-Conditioning: Please try to conserve energy wherever possible, especially when using air-conditioning.

Pets

Shark Bay Holiday Cottages has previously been a pet-friendly property, however we are no longer accepting any future bookings with pets.

If you have already arranged and paid for your pet to stay with us (the booking must have been made prior to April 1, 2023), you can review the full Pet Policy here that must be adhered to during your stay.

If you have not pre-arranged for your pet to stay at Shark Bay Cottages, you are at risk of your booking being cancelled effective immediately. Please see or phone management without hesitation.

Rubbish & Cleaning

Rubbish: There are green bins around the park provided for your rubbish. Please do not put fish waste matter in bins (specific fish bins available across the road).

Recycling: We have a recycle station onsite at the cottages for aluminium cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles. All proceeds go to supporting local Denham community groups.

Smoking: All cottages are smoke-free zones. Smoking in any building is strictly prohibited. Please dispose of cigarette butts in the ash trays provided when smoking outside.

Cleaning: Cottages are to be left in a clean and tidy condition. Dishes must be washed and put away before you check out, BBQ's cleaned, and fridges cleared.

Housekeeping: Shark Bay Cottages is self-contained accommodation and rooms will not be serviced during your stay. If you have a booking for 7 or more nights and would like fresh linen and towels dropped to your room during your stay, please call (08) 9948 1206 and we will arrange this for you.

Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, milk, dishwashing liquid, soap and toilet paper are provided for each room, however these will not be replenished during your stay.

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancelled more than 30 days before arrival date, there there will be no charge applicable.

  • If cancelled less than 30 days before arrival there will be no refund applicable.

  • There is no refund for early departures.

We strongly advise travel insurance for all your holiday bookings to meet your personal requirements in respect to illness, changes in personal circumstances, travel restrictions or employment changes.

Our Cancellation Policy takes into account bookings affected by COVID-19.

Please put your cancellation in writing to hello@sharkbaycottages.com.au so if you are eligible for a refund this can be processed back onto the same card you initially paid with.

If you have booked via Booking.com or AirBnb, the cancellation policy you have booked under with them applies. They will need to be contacted directly by the guest for cancellations / refunds.
